OpenRouter Maps Image-to-Video Pricing: Veo 3.1 at $0.60/s, Kling and Seedance Below $0.13

OpenRouter published a detailed pricing breakdown for seven image-to-video models it routes via POST /api/v1/videos, checked against live model pages and the GET /api/v1/videos/models endpoint on September 11, 2026. Prices vary by resolution, audio, and input type, and the spread between cheapest and most expensive is roughly 20x.

Model-by-Model Pricing

Google Veo 3.1 family (no reference image input listed):

  • Veo 3.1: $0.20–$0.60/s
  • Veo 3.1-fast: $0.08–$0.30/s
  • Veo 3.1-lite: $0.03–$0.08/s

ByteDance Seedance (priced per video token, not per second):

  • Seedance 2.5: from $0.1028/s at 480p ($10.70/M video tokens)
  • Seedance 2.0: from $0.06726/s at 480p ($7.00/M tokens)
  • Seedance 2.0-fast: from $0.04035/s ($4.20/M tokens)
  • Seedance 2.0-mini: from $0.03363/s ($3.50/M tokens)

Seedance token count is calculated as: height × width × duration × 24 / 1,024. Input video reduces the per-token rate.

Kuaishou Kling v3.0 (clips 3–15s at 720p, 16:9, 9:16, or 1:1):

  • Kling v3.0-std: $0.084/s without audio, $0.126/s with audio
  • Kling v3.0-pro: $0.112/s without audio, $0.168/s with audio
  • Kling Video O1: $0.112/s (5 or 10s clips only)

xAI Grok Imagine Video:

  • Grok Imagine Video 1.5: $0.08–$0.25/s, plus $0.01 per input image (reference-to-video, up to 7 images)
  • Grok Imagine Video: $0.05–$0.07/s, plus $0.002 per input image

What the Numbers Mean

At Veo 3.1’s floor of $0.20/s, a 10-second clip costs $2.00. At its ceiling of $0.60/s (high resolution, no audio), the same clip is $6.00. At Seedance 2.5’s starting rate of $0.1028/s, a 10-second clip starts at about $1.03 at 480p; a 30-second clip starts at about $3.08.

Kling v3.0 Pro with audio at $0.168/s runs $1.68 for a 10-second clip, putting it between Veo 3.1-fast and Veo 3.1 in cost.

Veo 3.1-lite at $0.03/s is the cheapest per second, though it carries the lowest resolution ceiling. The OpenRouter cookbook flags it as the preferred starting point for iteration before scaling to 3.1 or 3.1-fast.

API Discovery

The GET /api/v1/videos/models response includes supported_durations, supported_resolutions, supported_aspect_ratios, supported_frame_images, and pricing_skus for each model. Requests with unsupported parameters return a 400 that lists valid values. This matters for Kling Video O1, which only supports 5 or 10-second durations.

Seedance 2.5 accepts up to 50 image, video, and audio assets as reference inputs. Grok Imagine Video 1.5 accepts up to 7 reference images. Veo 3.1 lists no reference inputs at this time.
