CoreWeave Enters India with 240 MW Navi Mumbai Campus, Vera Rubin Online by Mid-2028

CoreWeave is entering India through a partnership with AdaniConneX, the 50/50 joint venture between Adani Enterprises and EdgeConneX. The deal covers 240 megawatts of data center capacity across three 80 MW buildings at AdaniConneX’s Taloja campus in Navi Mumbai, with CoreWeave as the sole tenant across all three buildings.

First capacity is expected to come online in mid-2028. Additional phases will follow. The site has been designed with an option to expand by a further 240 MW, bringing potential total capacity at Taloja to 480 MW.

Hardware and Cooling

CoreWeave will deploy NVIDIA Vera Rubin Platform at the Navi Mumbai facility, the same next-generation GPU architecture it is rolling out elsewhere in its global infrastructure. The buildings are designed for high-density AI workloads: each data hall uses direct liquid cooling for GPU racks and a non-evaporative chilled water system — infrastructure configurations suited for the power and heat densities that Vera Rubin-class hardware demands.

The India Strategic Angle

CoreWeave is establishing a local office and hiring in India alongside the infrastructure buildout, positioning the announcement as more than a real estate transaction. The company cited India’s developer talent pool and the country’s ambitions in AI as reasons for the entry. The Taloja campus aligns with India’s IndiaAI Mission, the government’s national AI infrastructure initiative.

India’s data center market has been growing rapidly. Several major hyperscalers have committed significant capital in the country over the past 18 months. CoreWeave’s entry focuses specifically on GPU-dense AI infrastructure rather than general-purpose cloud, which differentiates it from existing capacity in the market.

Scale in Context

240 MW is a substantial commitment for a first entry into a new geography. For comparison, typical hyperscale data center campuses in mature markets run 100-200 MW in initial phases. CoreWeave is starting at the upper end of that range and has pre-negotiated the expansion option at the same site rather than requiring a separate land and development process for follow-on phases.

The NVIDIA Vera Rubin deployment extends CoreWeave’s track record with successive NVIDIA GPU generations into India. The company was among the first to deploy Vera Rubin NVL72 rack-scale systems in its US fleet earlier this year.

The 480 MW combined potential at Taloja, if exercised, would make it one of the largest AI-focused data center campuses in South Asia.
